A peek behind the scenes with Business Support Manager Marianne

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Orchard Finance! A great opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes with Marianne. Because no day is the same for our Business Support Manager and certainly not when we are celebrating an anniversary! Are you curious about the ins and outs of Orchard Finance behind the scenes? Then read on quickly.

Who are you, and can you tell us about your background?

I started in this role for Orchard Finance in early July. After many years of experience in various business areas, particularly in events and sales most recently, this is a fun new challenge in a completely new world for me. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Deventer and now live on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.

Can you tell us about one of your most exciting workdays at Orchard Finance this year?

That would undoubtedly be the preparation weeks for the celebration of Orchard Finance’s 20th anniversary, culminating in a fantastic lustrum event for all clients and partners on October 3rd. An event where I had the opportunity to get to know some of our partners better, experience the atmosphere of the financial world, and see all my colleagues enthusiastically at work. We witnessed inspiring presentations, a humorous performance by De Speld, and the festive unveiling of Orchard Finance’s new corporate identity.

How does an ideal weekend day look for you?

A little sleep in (not as long as it used to be), a catch-up coffee with the whole family, and an outing such as a museum visit, theatre, film or dinner, but occasionally doing nothing at all with a good book is also lovely.

What is the most interesting thing about you that is not on your CV?

That I have been enjoying and finding great satisfaction in two wonderful volunteer roles for many years. One involves being the treasurer and co-organizer of various activities around a historical Church Square, and the other is the secretariat of a foundation that publishes an annual calendar and art calendar, using the proceeds to fund small-scale projects in Suriname.
