A peek behind the scenes with Analyst Lara

Orchard Finance is growing rapidly. Over the last couple of months we have welcomed many new colleagues. One of them is Lara Wirtz. Lara started about three months ago as Analyst Debt Advisory & Treasury. Therefore, it is about time for an introduction! Are you curious about Lara’s story and what it is like to work as an Analyst at Orchard Finance? Read on quickly!
Who are you and can you tell us something about your background?
I started working at Orchard Finance at the beginning of October. After completing my Masters in Finance and working at a real estate company, it was time to make the move towards Finance.
I come from a small village called Harmelen and will be moving to Utrecht soon to enjoy the buzz of the city! I am spontaneous, ambitious and prefer a direct approach.
How did you experience the first two months at Orchard Finance as Analyst Debt Advisory & Treasury?
I really enjoyed my first two months at Orchard. It is good to experience that I am learning new things every week! In addition, it is a nice team and I quickly felt at home at Orchard. I was immediately involved in different projects and I think that is the fastest way to learn. I prefer to make myself immediately useful to get a feel for the company and the way things work as quickly as possible.
What qualities do you appreciate most in your colleagues?
It is great to see how driven everyone is in his/her work, which is inspiring. There is a lot of knowledge and experience within Orchard and there is a lot to learn from that. It’s also nice to see that we are a diverse team with different personalities and yet truly form one team. That makes Orchard unique in my eyes
What work do you get the most satisfaction from?
I especially like the variety in projects. This allows me to develop myself in various fields of Finance and gain a lot of experience in the Finance field. I get a lot of satisfaction from contributing to a project. It is also nice to work with different colleagues in each project. This way, you get to know each other and the company very well.
What is the most interesting thing about you that is not on your resume?
I have played soccer with a lot of joy for about 12 years now together with many friends. Besides the competitive 90 minutes on Saturdays, the third half of the game is just as important. The ‘more the merrier’ really applies to me. I like to engage with people around me.
What do you get energy from besides your job as an Analyst?
Besides soccer, I do many other sports and get energy from being active. I like to go to the gym or play a game of padel or squash in my spare time. Additionally, I like to develop myself, both in my professional and private life, across various areas. I can be quite ambitious in pursuing these goals. To provide you with an example, I recently took up padel as a new hobby, and I am eager to master it as soon as possible. I am also exploring Blockchain and AI. These diverse hobbies make life versatile in my eyes, and therefore enjoyable and challenging. Consequently, I don’t shy away from challenges.
