A chat with our new colleague Juan, Manager Treasury

The past few months have not only seen changes in our corporate identity, but we have also seen significant growth in the team at Orchard Finance. One of those new colleagues is Juan Henriques. Juan has been working as Manager Treasury at Orchard Finance for five months. Are you curious about Juan’s story and what it is like to get started as Manager Treasury? Read on quickly!

Who are you and can you tell us a bit about your background?

I joined Orchard Finance in October and have held various roles within the Treasury & Consultancy field over the past 10 years. I obtained my Bachelor of Economics in Rotterdam. Together with my partner, we live in Rotterdam and became parents last year to our beautiful daughter Yvora.

How did you experience your start as Manager Treasury at Orchard Finance?

In the week I started at Orchard Finance, everything was dominated by the Lustrum Event, celebrating Orchard’s 20th anniversary. On my second working day, I was at an event in Utrecht where 250 clients and colleagues were attending. This was immediately a great experience to get to know the company, colleagues and partners in an informal atmosphere.

Do you have any particular goals for the year ahead?

Certainly. Professionally, I am committed to further growth within the Treasury profession. My goal is to successfully complete the ACT-course this year. I also want to be involved in various projects ranging from drafting Treasury Policies to implementing Treasury Management Systems, and applying my knowledge and experience within the team to increase our treasury activities within Orchard Finance.

On a personal level, I want to pick up my running shoes and participate in various running races. It is important for me to take on challenges and grow both professionally and personally.

How do you prefer to spend a weekend day?

My weekends often revolve around sports and family. Besides practicing boxing and fitness, I like to spend time with my family and friends.

What is the most interesting thing about you that is not on your CV?

What you won’t find on my CV is that I love making perfumes. It is a creative outlet that gives me a lot of satisfaction. I also do volunteer work through Jinc as a mentor coach to guide MBO youth in their study choices.

Thanks for the interview Juan! Did Juan’s story pique your interest? Click here for all vacancies and who knows, maybe we’ll see you at our office soon!
