Team expansion: Welcome Hamza!

Good news! We welcomed several new colleagues to our team this year, including Hamza, who joined us as a Treasury Consultant. Are you curious to know what it’s like to work as a Consultant at Orchard Finance? Then read on!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your background?

I’m originally from Morocco, where I spent the first 26 years of my life before joining Orchard Finance in March 2025. Before that, I served as a Management Consultant for nearly four years at PwC Advisory, specializing in Finance & Operations transformation and strategic project implementation. 

I hold a Master’s in Corporate Finance and had the chance to lead high-value initiatives: cost-killing strategies, Target Operating Model design and rollout, and finance, accounting and procurement transformations across Energy, Utilities and Industry. I’m fluent in English, French and Arabic, and currently trying to learn Dutch. Lekker, right?

What were your first impressions of Orchard Finance when you started?

From day one and especially during the introduction sessions, I felt Orchard’s positive energy and camaraderie. I was struck by how everyone had deep understanding and knowledge in specific competencies and how readily they are willing to share their expertise, whether in deep-dive workshops or informal chats about client challenges. It’s clear Orchard invests in its people and thrives on collaboration and continuous learning.

What tasks or activities motivate you the most, and where do you derive the most satisfaction from?

I thrive on diving into complex challenges and delivering real value to clients through tailored, practical solutions. Whether I’m conducting in-depth research, coordinating multi-stakeholder projects, or building frameworks that streamline processes, what drives me is seeing measurable improvements take shape. Knowing my contribution helps clients gain clarity, make faster decisions and optimize their operations gives me genuine satisfaction.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Do you have a favourite weekend activity?

Outside work you’ll often find me at the gym or hunched over a chess board. I’m also a big football fan, so most weekends I’m either watching matches with friends or playing FIFA on my PlayStation when I need to unwind solo.

What is the most interesting thing about you that isn’t on your CV?

You won’t see it on my CV, but I’m an avid AI explorer. In my free time I test new tools, build simple prototypes and share my findings with peers. Experimenting this way keeps me updated on the latest breakthroughs and developments, and helps me develop my prompting skills.
